The Marvel Universe / Source Material bonus sheet (set code MAR) is a mixed bag, and it's worth understanding exactly what you're looking at before you buy. It combines three different things: five genuinely new legendary creatures built from scratch for Marvel characters, renamed versions of proven Commander staples, and classic Magic cards that keep their real names but receive new Marvel artwork. Five New Legends, Not Reskins
These five started life in 2024 as limited Secret Lair drops — one card each for Captain America, Black Panther, Iron Man, Storm, and Wolverine, each with a genuinely new, purpose-built ability rather than a repackaged old card. Classic Staples Wearing Marvel Names
These are the true reskins — proven Commander staples, functionally unchanged, given a new name and Marvel-themed art. The card underneath is exactly the staple you already know.
- Teferi's Protection as "T'Challa's Protection" — the ultimate Commander reset button, phasing you and everything you own out of danger.
- Sword of Fire and Ice as "Patriotic Shield" — Captain America's shield as the best of the Sword cycle. Perfect flavour.
- Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon as "Venom, King in Black" — the classic infect commander, reimagined as the symbiote.
- Dauthi Voidwalker as "Widow-Making Infiltrator" — Black Widow as the format's premier unblockable graveyard-hate creature.

Why Proxy These Cards Instead of Buying the Originals?
The five new legends began life as limited 2024 Secret Lair drops, which kept their originals scarce and priced accordingly even after this wider reprint. The renamed staples carry the weight of being proven Commander staples on top of a hyped crossover treatment — both are exactly the kind of card where collector demand outruns what Wizards actually charges for the product itself.
